Peralam - Karaikkal & v.v., 1931

Thanks for uploading this, Jimmy. Brings back fond memories of my stay in Karaikkal back in 1973. My uncle's house was walking distance from Karaikovilpathu station. I would often watch a three-coach MG train pull into the station headed by a YP. Thirunalaru has a famous Murugan temple. I remember taking a passenger train till Mayuram (now Mayiladuturai).

1931 tranquebar

Thanks for sharing these treasures. Could you scan the schedules for Mayavaram - Peralam - Karaikkal section? I traveled on this line way back in 1973.

Appu, I am very sure that that is a part of the old NG permanent way. Some more of small embankments can be found in Krishnagiri (of Tirupattur-Krishnagiri line). I hope the Bangalore gang will go to Hosur and Krishnagiri one day and dig up the remains in the same way as the Pune gang did on the Miraj line. I had tried my level best years back. All I could find is that most of the furniture in Govt. offices are made of unearthed sleepers of this line!!
