Burst mode will not help. Even the highest FPS cameras offer only 10FPS which transalates to 100ms lag. The cameras today have a lag less than that. 41ms is the shortest times today.

Zubin, it will still be hard, but you might have some luck if you put your digicam in burst mode.

BRAVO ! A rare pic indeed. A masterpiece!! It is very diff or rather next to impossible to capture the excat moment with a digital camera as there is a lag between press and shoot. I have myself never been able to capture this exact moment inspite of several failures.

Beautiful. The crisp foreground and blurred loco (which shows movement) convey a lot of drama in this image.
