This is the entry into the tunnel from Panvel side. The tunnel crosses the whole area including the hill visible in the background covering a distance of 2.83 kms. The black rock protruding behind the catenary pole in the foreground is actually a cutting to facilitate the entry onto the railway track from the top (Giridhar)
