Honnavar - A true railfan paradise!
Inspired by various trips by members to KR's crown jewel, I headed out on a trip to see it with my own eyes. I was blown away by the peace, beauty and nature's grandeur which Honnavar is. Thanks to Appu and gang's detailed maps of the area, I was able to get around easily and let myself soak into nature and pristine diesel action. Presenting to you a place a railfan will never get tired seeing or visiting - Honnavar!

After two days of enjoying railfan paradise, I return to mainland action. The Poorna Express bound to Ernakulam gets ready to leave Honnavar (station) with its Pune WDM-3A. (Pawan Koppa)
The Karwar Express which could have taken me back to Bengaluru quickly moves into the loop at Honnavar with an ultra clean Ernakulam WDG-3A #13197. I however took a sleeper bus later in the night. (Pawan Koppa)
The Mangalore bound passenger is next to pull into Honnavar with Erode's WDM-3A #17803 as the light starts fading quickly. (Pawan Koppa)
An end to the trip cannot be explained better than this scene which typifies life in these parts - simple, easygoing and calm. A group of elderly gentlemen chat away at Honnavar station as I bid goodbye to this wonderful place with lots of unforgettable m
