NG locos on flatcars at Mumbai
While traveling from Mumbai to Pune on the 2123 Deccan Queen, IRFCA members spotted three narrow gauge locos on flat cars at Diva.
Uniquely, one of the locos had a dual cab. Here are some pictures and a video(47 Mb, shot by Roopesh Kohad) from the 2123.
The other images are from Igatpuri where our friends from the railways chased the locos and returned with detailed images.
The locos are:
ZDM4A # 198 (named as Chatrapati - homing shed unknown), ZDM3 # 701 (Dual cab of Kalka shed) and ZDM5 # 513 (Dhaulpur shed).
Pictures shot on 4th and 5th of October 2008 at Diva and Igatpuri.
A NG twin cab loco being transported on a BG flatbed wagon. Pic taken at Diva Jn from a moving train, hence the poor quality. The serial no 701 was clearly visible. Not sure whether it was an NDM or a ZDM, not known. (Dinesh Hukmani)
Another picture of the dual cab NG loco # 501 spotted at Diva Jn on 4th Oct 2008. As this is most probably 2" gauge loco, it must be for either the Neral-Matheran line or the Darjeeling Railway. Picture by Roopesh Kohad. (Roopesh)
