Ashish walks towards the portals of Tunnels 24 and 24C. The Pune-Mumbai expressway crosses over the tunnels, while the road on the elevated section is the NH4. The tunnel 24 was made in 1929 but the tunnel 24C was completed only in 1982. Although these tunnels open at the same spot on this side, the 24C is more than thrice the length of the 24 on the other side.
