South India Darshan
Pictures from the Andaman express and the MG passenger from Vellore to Villapuram and return to MS by the 104 passenger. Gauge conversion may start from 1st July 2007 and this may well be one final ride for some IRFCA members to witness the MG route before it closes down for good.
Speed up man! You may not get a better chance to give a farewell to this loco!! (Aravind)
We start our journey at a steady pace, not crossing 40. The speed limit on this whole stretch is just 50 kmph. (Sid)
Vimal sir seems relaxed and laid back as he salvages every moment of the ride. (Sid)
The linesman gives us the green to proceed to the loop line where we will have our only crossing. (Sid)
Our train waits at Kannamangalam as there was a scheduled crossing. Sid could be seen waiting for the photographic action. (Ramesh)
Sid posing with the Little devil.. we were waiting for its sister to show up for the crossing. (Vivek)
..and what a crossing that was.. 6311 was on the mainline and it just zoome past and stopped a hundred yards away.. good braking. (Vivek)
The opposite train hauled by another GOC YDM-4 #6311 crosses us. The crew seems to be more excited as they look curiously. (Ramesh)
The other train stops only for 2 seconds, to pick up the token and head its way. (Sid)
Old style water tank & the motor room at Kannamangalam which served water to the thirsted passengers. (Ramesh)
Typical MG atmosphere 2. This time we some sales ladies trying to sell their items to the only train that passes this station nowadays. Vivek strikes a pose too! (Sid)
Platformless station? We found few stations like this on Vellore-Villupuram route. (Ramesh)
