Giridhar, It appears they didn't bother to write in Kannada since in this case the Telugu letters are 99% similar to that of Kannada. !

I wonder if any station comes close to Raichur (RC) whose station board is in...

Its written as Mallanur in Telugu and Hindi as well.

Wonder why station name is not in Kannada also, as this town lies on both borders of TN and Karnataka. (This town lies in AP)
