Some RDSO certified 60 kg sleepers were placed on the alignment at the proposed Channarayapatna station. These were extra wide presumably for laying of points. (Pawan Koppa)

Yes,these are point sleepers.Each point and crossing needs a set of sleepers of different dimensions.They have the rail fastenings embedded into them as required by the prefabricated point and crossing assembly.Note that these sleepers do not have rail ...
