The Ahmedabad - Jammu Express approaches the Basantar River. The express becomes a passenger between Pathankot and Jammu, but had a fine run nevertheless.

This river bed is actually the site of the Battle of Basantar (1971) where 2/Lt Arun Khetarpal got a posthumous Param Vir Chakra for destroying 3 enemy tanks.
