Trip to DDN by Aseem Johri

Picturesque Hardwar Station: Me walking over ballast to Pf#1 to buy tickets for my journey to DDN. Not sure which train is coming next, but hoping for some super-crawler as to get max photo-ops. I'd very good start to a memorable album.

Hardwar Station: Laksar end : By the time I reached the platform, announcement was made for train I was wishing, that is Amritsar - Dehradun Express or erstwhile 'Lahori'. So, here am I on foot overbridge to assigned Pf#2. Train must have been given all

Hardwar Station: Dehradun end: Turned around and took the photo of lone LKO Prabal waiting on Pf#1.

Here comes my 4632 Asr - Ddn Express: Seen here switch lines to Pf#2, with LKO WDG-3 Shakti in-charge. At the back you see LKO WDM-2 waiting to shunt sectional coaches.

Rishikesh Passenger: Here comes another LKO WDG-3 # 13288 leading a passenger train from Rishikesh over the Pf#1. What a waste of brute power.

Entering Tunnel #2:As we head towards Dehradun, the train enters tunnel #2 just off Hardwar. Actually, we are in a small gap between the two tunnels.

Heading towards Motichur station: Once out of tunnel, the trains negotiates curve in suburban Hardwar towards Motichur station, which itself is within Hardwar city limits.

Motichur Station: TKD WDP1 waiting with Dehradun-Laksar-Saharanpur passenger.

Off to Raiwala Jn.

Teak Forest: Passing through the teak forests of Rajaji National Forest right before Raiwala Jn. The road runs parallel to the tracks and is quite a scene whether you are in train or on road.

Raiwala Jn. TKD WDM waiting with H.Nizamuddin-Dehradun AC Special headed towards Delhi.

Tracks branching off to Rishikesh, whereas our training turning towards left to Dehradun.

LDH WDM-3A 14058 leading the show: 9020 Dehradun-Bandra Express at Harrawala.

Entering Suburban Dehradun: Dehradun smells like a hill station, and that smell is as obvious as low as as this place.

Negotiating the Yard to Pf#3: Seen here is Dehradun-Allahabad Link Exp, which will take me back to Hardwar.

The LDH Show: Seen here is 4114 Link Exp to Allahabad. This train will take me back to Hardwar after two hours.

TKD WDM-3A #14004: Seen here is TKD Baldie that brought in Shatabdi Exp to Pf#2 and towards left is rear end of 4114 Link exp to Allahabad. I will later on board the very last coach which is in view.

Dehradun station: Hardwar end.

Dehradun Station: City dead end.

Dehradun Loco Shed: Erstwhile steam loco shed housing the WDG3 Shakti that brought my ASR-DDN Exp, while the LDH beast getting ready to take me back to Hardwar. It itself will go all the way till Aligah where the Link Express will join Sangam Exp from Me
