Marching to CNB 2008
On 31/01/2008, two mad railfans of Kolkata, Shubhabrata and Saurab went on a 5128 Kms Circular journey to reach the grand meet at CNB 2008. We covered Neral, Pratapnagar, Ahmedabad, Gwalior and of course, Kanpur with the surrounding routes. All the photographs are shot with official permission from the respective authorities. W.G. Bagnall T Class loco # 603 plinthed at DRM Office Pratapnagar. It started its career at 1920 and retired on 1987.
Reserved for attendants of DRM (something similar to historic III rd class coach) .
Unusual (at least for me) MG BKC/BC wagon only fit for carrying sugarcane spotted at Mathura Jn.
Kawasaki ZE # 55 (from Kawasaki Rolling Stock Mfg Co Ltd Kobe Japan) plinthed outside Dholpur Station. It was built in 1950 and retired at 1991. One can find its older photographs at
NA # 791 Plinthed outside Gwalior Station. Is was the first Narrow Gauge Steam Locomotive (2’0) of Gwalior Light Railway. Built by Kerr Stuart & Co Ltd UK. Introduction of service 1895 and priced at Rs. 30,655/- .
NH2 # 750 plinthed at ARM Office Gwalior. Built by Kerr Stuart & Co Ltd UK . Year of introduction 1928. Used in Gwalior State Railway up to 1985.
The famous Silver Train of Gwalior Palace that used to serve royal guests during banquets. It was so tightly packed, really I could not take a Good Photograph.
NDM 5 # 808 taking a breather at Gwalior NG platform after completion of its about 90 Kms journey from Sheopur Kalan.
Diesel Rail Car NRD1 1003 rusting at Gwalior Diesel Loco Shed..Cant we preserve these also ?
