The sandy trail is where the track to Pakistan through Hindumalkote existed at one point in time. This track was an important part of the Delhi - Bahawalpur rail link and connected Delhi to Karachi, Lahore, and Peshawar. The rail link was disrupted by Pakistan in 1947. Hindumalkote is the closest station to border on this line. (Parthajit Dasgupta)
