The sandy trail is where the track to Pakistan through Hindumalkote existed at one point in time. This track was an important part of the Delhi - Bahawalpur rail link and connected Delhi to Karachi, Lahore, and Peshawar. The rail link was disrupted by Pakistan in 1947.
