A Spectacular Narrow Gauge through the Ravines of Beas
Day 2 and the Final Day of our Sojourn. This was for covering by far the most spectacular Narrow Gauge section of India. We knew it was impossible to cover in 1 day so our target was to cover this section till Jawalanwala where it was more feasible.
even before sunrise we were thrown into action as the early morning service towards Kangra crosses one of innumerable viaducts (Trayambak Ojha)
The viaduct at the outskirts of Pathankot on the river chakki is one of the longest viaducts of this section (Raj Upadhyaya)
Emerging from thick forests this is by far the most beautiful sections of IR (Raj Upadhyaya)
The mountain backdrop through the forests is a sight to see along with the NG train (Raj Upadhyaya)
These wild flowers are an added attraction to the approaching train (Raj Upadhyaya)
Typical of North India, the sarso ka khet and wild flowers (Raj Upadhyaya)
Over one of the channels of Beas, the Narrow gauge heads towards Jogindernagar at Jawalanwala Sheher (Raj Upadhyaya)
After Nurpur Road the train changes its course towards Nagrota Suriyan (Raj Upadhyaya)
Climbing an up-gradient the loco is making all efforts to reach it destination (Raj Upadhyaya)
Another small stream and another viaduct. I have not seen more viaducts than this section (Raj Upadhyaya)
The background of this place had snow clad mountains as the train crosses an LC. Sadly cloud cover had spilt everything (Raj Upadhyaya)
The viallge scenes with the mustard fields make up for a beautiful location (Raj Upadhyaya)
The barrel effect of the lens and against the light creates something different (Raj Upadhyaya)
The hills with the viaduct all massive renders the tiny NG train very small (Raj Upadhyaya)
A wider view of the viaduct shows that the train is just like a matchbox (Raj Upadhyaya)
