NFR hq viewed from Neelachal Hill atop which is the famous Kamakhya Temple. The eponymous station is just off-picture to the right. The mainline is discernible between the hq and the railway stadium. Most of the housing in view is for NFR staff. The distant water body is an ecologically fragile, teeming-with-birds wetland known as Deepor Beel. Not surprisingly,NFR wanted to lay the Goalpara line right through the middle of the beel but was eventually forced to shift it next to the distant hills thereby avoiding most of the wetlands.
