The maroon (brown) coaches that you have seen belong to NR, may be they are the spare coaches of Amritsar Saharsa Garib Rath. It has 3 maroon coloured coaches of NR and 2-3 green-yellow-green coaches of ER. Earlier, the whole rake had NFR green-yellow-green coaches, but 7-8 NFR coaches were damaged last year due to a bomb blast near New Bongaigaon Jn. in Assam (08/07/2010). The worst thing is that a 5 year old boy was killed. After that, this pretty rake was a victim of mis-match livery and coaches.
For me these mis-match coaches are nothing more than blood bath !!
