The charm and beauty of NFR attracts every railfan alike. As if to do justice to that, myself Pramit Mitra and my friend Arghya Roy went for a short trip to NFR. We took the Teesta Torsha Express on Feb-4 2013. We covered the New Jalpaiguri-Hasimara stretch through the lush green Dooars and also the New Coochbehar-New Jalpaiguri Stretch experiencing some excellent diesel action in undisputed non-electrified territory. We took the legendary Darjeeling Mail back home on 6th. You can read my trip reports in the following links: Part 1 Part 2 Note: All photos were taken with the permission of CPRO of NFR.
Night was approaching fast as I captured North East Express curving just before New Jalpaiguri giving us a fantastic view of the entire train. We were traveling in the luggage van. (Pramit Mitra)
Fading away into eternal darkness. The lighting condition in the NG platform of NJP just reflects present condition of NG lines in India. (Pramit Mitra)
The MECCA OF NFR... 'New Jalpaigui Jn' flaunts itself brightly... (Arghya Roy)
Time for our return journey. Time to bid goodbye to NFR. The loco that hauled our Kolkata bound Darjeeling Mail, WDP-4 #20003, just after getting attached to the 24-coached legendary train. (Pramit Mitra)
