The cab of a WAG6-C. While the A9 & SA9 look like those on other CLW built locos, power seems to be controlled via a single lever like that found in a WAP5/7. Does the WAG6C have notch based power control or some other system. What do the experts make of it? Also, what purpose would the wheel to the right of the pic serve? Emergency brake? Wheel on the Right would be the hand/Parking brake.

WAG 6 technical sheet indicates that these locos use Thyristor Chopper technology with independent excitation for motors. In this case notching would not be present as semiconductors would control excitation of motor under variable load by varying excitation voltage. This arrangement coupled with Wheel slip detection might be useful considering WAG 6 work with heavier loads and steep grades of KK line.
PS: Look at the stylish shades on LP ;-)
