Lovely pics. Reminded me of the time some seven years back when I did the same journey, rather Indore-Kalakund-Indore with my brother. And we did the roof-top travel on the return journey. This after undertaking a short trekking trip at Kalakund while waiting for our return train. The talk with the Assit SM revealed that Kalakund was a major goods yard and had a steam engine shed where the locos for banking duties used to be stabled.
It was always bustling with freight related activities in the steam era and that the yard had four loops to hold the goods trains. Sadly with the other routes becoming more convenient this route was left in disuse and slowly rotted.
Now only two lines remain at Kalakund.
The old steam shed is still there though it has been walled up and now supports the water tank.
