  4. Elephanta Mini Train awaits departure from mainland

Elephanta Island in Bombay bay, India, has an approximagely 3' gauge 500 yard long line used to convey passengers from the Pier Head to the mainland. It was built around 1996. The line runs along the pier to the shore and was built around 1996. It's a top and tail consist, petrol powered and costs Rs 6 or about 8p (£0.08 GBP!!) for the 500 yard trundle.... 14.12.2002.
