A Phooltas Tamper sleeper laying machine seen at a wayside station. Thh crane on the flat deck picks up sleepers from the trailing car and deposits them trackside. This machine is called a UTV, which is essentially a self propelled crane for loading unloading permanent way material. The UTV can haul a loaded flat wagon also along with its camp coach, for the staff. SWM - MTJ, 4/1/2004. By Shashanka.
