The turnouts employed here are different. The centre rail simply moves in an arc to shift the train from one track to another. A few regular turnouts also exist. Tipong Colliery, Assam, 2005-07-15. Samit Roychoudhury.

Krinish, this is a turnout (point) for this narrow gauge track. Its not like regular turnouts. Here, the centre portion, the track with the chamfered end, can be turned to either side, enabling trains to be switched to either track.
