Nice picture! Ugly or otherwise, this loco is a great workhorse. I've always wondered why most diesel locos in India don't have dual cabs?

Frankly, it does not appear ugly to me.....a lot has been said about its triangular (or pentagonal?) end, but to me it looks quite attractive & different from the boring boxy lines of WDMs.

Right ! no loco can ever be termed as an "ugly duckling" It would have been a dream come true had this loco been rated at 5000 BHP.

this is by far the best diesel power in IR till date no alco i have been in beats the DP4 in control smoothness or efficiency or power do not count the dual locos please.
so please dont insult it by calling it a Ugly duckling it is IR's...
