  3. tiny signal Wan Road 23Dec2008

The home signal at Wan Road is on one of the shortest posts that I have ever seen - barely the height of a man. The first time I spotted this signal from the 458B Akola-Ratlam passenger, it was too late to get the camera in position. The second time, I was ready with the camera for too long and it shut off due to lack of activity just as we approached Wan Road! I restarted the camera, and this picture is the best we have of this signal. Future expeditions on the Akola - Indore run PLEASE get good pictures of this dwarf beauty. The location is immediately after the tunnel leading into Wan Road on the left side, so be very alert after Hiverkhed station with the camera. The "W" in this image is the whistle alert for southbound trains out of Wan Road - there is a tunnel ahead! (Apurva)

I checked my video footage and realized that I missed taking this signal - I was on the other side focused on the MG train that was standing on the loop. Wish I had known about this!
