A dazzling shower of molten metal droplets sprays over the track as the welding portion ignites to extreme temperatures in just a couple of seconds. The molten mix is then poured into a single use clay mould fitted over rails that need to be welded together. This weld was being carried out on a rail fracture barely a few minutes before the Gitanjali Express went over the very same track at above 70 kph!. Ajni Station - Nagpur, 2004-08. Alok Patel.
