YAM-1 MG Electrics
the now extinct YAM-1 series of Metre Gauge Electric Locomotives.
New rulers of Tambaram - YDM 4's wait impatiently like horses readying for the night battle and the BG EMU peeping from the distance
Maybe this stage was made to do the ceremony to give peace to the departed soul of YAM 1's
What I was searhing for - the "HMT" builders plate. Hitachi-Mitsubishi-Toshiba. I had to scratch the paint off. The remaining paint was just refusing o go
The other YAM 1 21922 is in a much better condition. Someone told that it is going to be preserved next to the YCG 1 in front of the station
If you remove the bushes in the background, you will never say that this loco is decommissioned
Soon to be gone for ever. YAM 1 21913 will be history soon. May your parts find good value in the scrap market

Corridor to the other cab from the Assistant driver's side. The entire machinery is neatly arranged with nice doors. I did not go in since the man who came with me told there are lot o snakes that come to gulp the lubricants in the room
This is the corridor from the driver's side. The compressor and reservoir are quite small in size
How many caution orders he would have read under this light. How many times he would have held the walkie and talked to the guard.... Feels as if the driver who will never arrive, has gone outside to check the loco...
Behind the driver are many switches neatly packed inside this glass almirah type door. I have not seen such a door in an AC loco
Another view a railfan will take when footplating. The guy in the backgound is an employee of the scrap dealer
YAM 1 21913 up close. This loco is to be broken down shortly. Scrap dealers who had waited for the rains to get over had come today to study it. One of them broke the window.
Inside the cab of 21913. These locos had a very nice console. This is the drivers side. Compare this with the BG AC loco console. This is very neat
