The smell of fresh dark orange paint.... There was a power chord connected to this WAP 4 22249. The chord was connected to a simple HV plug in the platform and the other end somewhere underneath the loco. I was unable to see where it went since the RPF shoooed me off! Can someone explain what is happening here? Adding to the mystery, this is Ernakulam Shornaur passenger, departure of which has been delayed for over 15 minutes, reasons unknown. The power chord maybe the reason for the delay. I am seeing this arrangement for the first time

i dont think its welding as chances for the same during a shedule is minimum...then battery charging??i suppose batteries are charged after removing it from the loco....
