Vulcan Foundry built these somewhat smaller 2-4-0WT locomotives for Bombay, Baroda and Central India Railway in 1860. These had vertical boiler, outside cylinders, 48" coupled wheels, 11 X 17" cylinders and incorporated a well tank. These were classified as A class on BBCIR. All eight locomotives of A class were withdrawn by 1870 presumably because they were underpowered for the work demanded of them. On of these went on to work on the Bombay Reclamation in 1865.
