The expert team of workers from the Accident Relief Train at Basin Bridge arrived to re-rail the locomotive. A set of wooden planks are positioned to provide the hydraulic jacks firm ground.
Perfect positioning is required for this.
The heavy hydraulic jacks are lowered from the truck.
Extra cushioning is provided by use of small wooden planks.
Another jack positioned on the other side of the LHF.
A pair of hoses are connected from the control panel to the jack. Each jack is numbered for easy identification and the corresponding hose is connected to its respective position in the panel.
Now the other end of the hose is connected to the desired jack.
This is the control panel. The gauge you see on the left is the hydraulic pressure gauge. The levers when applied in "UP" direction, the jack is powered up and in the "DOWN" direction, the jack is powered down.
The powerpack for the hydraulic power comes from this pump. The set of hoses connect to the inlet of the control panel.
The second jack is now connected.
The heavy bar with perforated holes at regular intervals is lowered from the truck.
The ACD team has full kitchen ready and it travels whereever they go. All the need is ten minutes to prepare a "hot chai".
Shri. Arun Devraj, Dy.CME, SR enjoys a cup of Chai with a JE from BBQ.
The jacks are powered on. Here you can see the levers 1 and 2 in the "UP" position to power the jacks 1 and 2 to lift the LHF side of the loco.
The heavy loco is lifted slowly by the jack.
