Scissor's crossing action at Bablad_pic 2/4: This is a unique crossing arrangement consisting of a long (more than twice the longest rake length) siding parallel to the main line.

The siding has a pair of points in its middle that allow connectivity with the main line in either direction. The train that is to be halted for the crossing/overtake is led into the siding thus leaving the mainline clear for the second train to use.

Then, the train in the siding is reversed past the point in the middle - once the main line is clear, the train is led back on to the main line using the other point. Here the KJM WDM4 # 20032 is just starting to push the rake of 6530 Up Udyan Express from the dead end - the two signal lamps marking the siding end are visible in the pic. 2nd March 2007.
