Calculation of gross weight of trains

(Taken from WTT/LKO/2004)

We find the amount of traffic on a route given as GMT (gross million tonne) per year or simply mentioned as GMT of a route. This GMT is calculated by the Statistical Branch, based on the reports generated by the Guard of a train using the gross weights as given by RDSO, which are reproduced below. This data has been taken from the working time table of LKO division for 2004 and does not contain the weight of coaches other than those from ICF. (A glaring omission is AC3T.)
