Attempted Train-Wrecking: Ninth Attempt Reported On Howrah-Amta Railway
Mr R.K. Sen, Deputy Superintendent of the Howrah District Police, is inquiring into a fresh case of attempted train-wrecking on the Howrah-Amta Railway by fixing nails where the rails are joined. On the 25th ultimo a railway porter noticed some nails and three pieces of thick iron wire fixed at the junction of two rails near Jalashi station just before the 1 Up train was about to leave the above station. The obstructions were removed and the train moved on without an accident. This is the ninth attempt to wreck a train on the Howrah-Amta Railway in the course of the last four months. There have been two prosecutions in connection with these attempts at train-wrecking.

Attempt to Wreck a Train: Escape Of The Khulna Mail
The Government Railway Police at Bongong, on the Eastern section of the Eastern Bengal State Railway are enquiring into an attempt to derail a train by piling bricks on the railway line between Habra and Guma on Friday night. The driver of the Khulna Mail noticed the obstruction in time, and averted an accident by applying the vacuum brake.
