BB&CI Railway Ad for Foreman of Locomotive Painters and Trimmers

The DIRECTORS are prepared to receive (by letter only) APPLICATIONS from properly qualified men, between twenty-seven and thirty-three years of age, for appointment as FOREMAN of PAINTERS and TRIMMERS, under the first foreman of the carriage department, on the lines of this company in India.
Applicants must be fully experienced in painting and trimming, and internal fitting up of carriages, and also painting of locomotive engines and all other rolling stock.
Terms: A five years' agreement, a second-class free passage to Bombay and back, with railway fares, and an allowance of £3 for incidental travelling expenses from the successful applicant's home until he reaches Bombay. Salary, Rs 250 (equal at present rate of exchange to about £18 sterling) per month, commencing from date of sailing.
Candidates must have a good knowledge of reading, writing, and arithmetic, and have acquired a knowledge of their business in a first-rate shop engaged on railway work. No one will be accepted until he has passed a medical examination satisfactory to the company.
