Shanx, interesting that there are now 4 of these in existence. Do you (or does anybody else) have further info on these mysterious machines? Such as why classified as ZDM3 - are they extensive rebuilds? If a new design then why plain ZDM3 when 3A and 3B versions exist for minor variations? And why use an already used number sequence? Questions, questions...

@Dr.Mulky: The link you've provided is the original design where I agree the LHF doesn't look bad at all ;-)

These look terrible! The original ZDM3 design was so much more elegant. And its not like visibility was hampered that much in LHF operation - the loco's length was short to begin with and the cab windows were always higher than the hood. A complete waste of effort and money, in my opinion.
