Chances are that the ordinary rail traveller will never have heard of Dabhoi in Gujarat. The small town near Vadodara (nee Baroda) is distinguished by the tastefully ornate city gates of the Solanki Rajputs, erected in the thirteenth century. (Tushar Dhake)

Sorry again, my mistake. BG services are running from Dabhoi to Pratapnagar, but not to Vadodara. This Pratapnagar - BRC line would pass the quaint NG station at Vishwamitri and then join the main Bombay - Baroda line.

Once the biggest NG junction in the country with 5 lines radiating from it (to Miyagam, Pratapnagar, Samlayam Chhuchhapura and Chandod), today it has been invaded by the BG giants. But services are yet to start on the Vadodara - Dabhoi BG line.
