The Grand Konkan Grandeur

I finally land in Dasgaon at an ungodly hour. After warming myself next to a fire with a watchman in the freezing misty environs, I eventually muster to capture a freight train moving northward over Savitri river around 4 am.

It was a very humid and hot day. As soon as I arrived in Karwar I rushed to this spot. I barely made and was covered with shrubs nevertheless managed to shoot this. Bikaner- Coimbatore AC express led by ABR Rebuilt approaching Karwar running 2 hours late.

Dadar - Tirunelveli express makes its way toward Ankola having departed from Karwar in the glistening sun on a beautiful morning. One can sit for hours here and can never tire of the sight that beholds. The Arabian Sea looks mighty with its calm waters.

A trip to the Konkan is truly incomplete without visiting Honnavar, so I steal a few moments with a new perspective. The glorious western ghats presents a magnificent atmosphere even for a non-railfan to witness this scene. Bangalore bound Karwar - YPR
