A close up of Ponmalai shed logo that should have actually stayed as Golden Rock.

ED WDM2 17914 with the same BTPN rake that i had photographed at Kayankulam. The WDG was getting its massive fuel tank re filled but was not hauling the rake

Big BG monster and the MG YDM next to the steam shed

IMG_0033.jpg

Its a good day for people traveling by the Trivandrum-LTT Netravati Express as the train gets ED's 14081 WDM3A. There are days when this 22 coach load gets a WDM2

Another view of the steam shed where my loco gets some diesel oil to take me to Tirunelveli

Assistant loco pilot doing some final checks on the loco

Man if it were'nt for those electric traction poles

IMG_0040.jpg

Whats new about finding a really filthy ED loco and then this well kept 16460. This loco had a slanted instrument panel and i've never seen anything like it before.

And we're off towards Tirunelveli on the Quilon-Tirunelveli Express. This train has a FC coupe and the Quilon-Sengottai Passenger has a Sleeper Class coach.

Stop number one. Kundara Station. This is where our friend Jimmy Jose was born. Im not surprised by his attachment to MG more than anything else

IMG_0045.jpg

We set off after a short halt at Kundara. The assistant loco pilot asked me to bend down a bit so he could complete the flag exchange with the guard of our 5 coach train

A Termination of Speed Limit board on the already restricted speed of 40 Kmph

One of the many tight curves enroute to Sengottai. The guide rail can be seen.

Kottarakara was our next stop
