Narrow Gauge of the Satpuras

Pictures from Satpura Narrow Gauge network (Jabalpur, Nainpur, Mandla Fort, Balaghat, Nagpur). Satish Gune spent 3 days documenting this wonderful section in first week of February. With 24 trains/day Nainpur is probably one of the busiest narrow gauge junctions on this planet. The sad part is this great NG show will end in few years. After gauge conversion Nainpur will probably have same fate as Kurduwadi.

Dedicated to hard working men/women of Indian Railways.

Time to get some well deserved rest. ZDM/4A 209 at Howbagh Jabalpur last station before Jabalpur. All narrow gauge trains originate from here. The empty/partly filled rake goes to Jabalpur. After loco reversal the journey begins. (Satish Gune)
