Before the advent of `Route Relay Interlocking'. When I first looked at this, I wondered, and I still wonder where the cabinman would stand to operate this!
Is that semi-circle plate a kind of protection ? and also looks like a Solar panel on the top : Vibin [A trip on PGTN-POY MG Line]

Twin Bokaro Steel City (BKSC) WDM-2's, 18656 and 17760, back up a rake of coal into the Singapur Road station yard. The lead loco looks to have been recently transferred from Kharagpur (KGP). (Bharath)
The signals were used to guide MG trains from VM to TBM. Now they have turned to other side to avoid confusion to BG loco pilots (Ramesh)
As the 2457B enters Moradabad Jn., a lone WDM2 from Tughlakabad shed waits under the watchful eye of the semaphore gantries. Canon EOS 350D / EFS 18-55mm, f/5.6, 1/400 sec, ISO 400 hand-held. ()
