A beautiful picture post-card view of the #6044 YDM/4 locomotive, standing unmanned at the yard beside Chengalpattu station. Note the top mounted horns facing either side; and heavy vegetation on the tracks. The YDM/4 is dimunitive in width and height, but matches her length with the WDM/2 - given the Co-Co wheelsets. |

The YDM/4 meter gauge diesel controls resemble the WDM/2, (sanding.. et al) on this clandestine pic aboard the 6044 Golden Rock diesel, at Chengalpattu station. This engine serves passenger trains on the way to Arrakkonam. Drivers prefer the short hood leading to the long one for the better view of the line ahead. |

YDM/2 #2040 shunts a single coach of the Kamban Express north of Chennai Egmore station. The green livery has predominantly been used by Golden Rock locomotives on SR. The YDM/2 is B-B, as compared to the Co-Co YDM/4. However, the YDM/2 never went places. This one sports a lighter shade of the Golden Rock green. |

YDM/2 #2029 from Golden Rock (Ponmalai) shed waits with a flat car train at Arrakkonam near Chennai.
