This straight stretch heading north of out Tuglakabad is wooded and green, but soon civilization and humanity disconnect the beauty of this nice picture. A TKD WAG/5A locomotive with a BCNA freight train is beaming as she races through home territory. I love walking this stretch from TKD station to the level crossing a couple of kilometers ahead. |

A gaudily painted orange & green WAG/5HA from GMO accelerates south of Okhla station in New Delhi. This locomotive has taken the ring route that run around the periphery of the city, and are mainly used by freight trains and light locomotives. This town has many industrial units hosted in the development zones set up by the government. |

Freight trains jostle for space with the many express trains traversing the Chennai-Jolarpettai section. In this snap, the 2639 Brindavan races and overtakes a CR Ajni WAG5HB locomotive hauling a fuel load on the third line between Pattabiram and Thiruvallur, east of Arrakkonam Jn. |
|
The short stretch of double-track connecting Renigunta junction with Arrakkonam on SR acts as a main line for freight trains from the south west, bound for terminals along the east coast. The 6011 Mumbai Chennai express crosses a cream and maroon WAG/5HA hauled BCNA freight train. The locomotive is an SCR power, homed at Vijaywada (BZA). |
|
The 6045 Navjivan Express from Ahmedabad to Chennai is right on time, hauled by a BZA shed WAG/5HA locomotive in the customary rust brown livery. This train decelerates as it proceeds to gobble the last couple of kilometers to enter Chennai Central terminal. This train gets diesel haulage for considerable distance - Ahmedabad to Bhusaval, and the Surat-Jalgaon section is pending electrification. |

The diamond-shaped layout north of Chennai Central permits trains to choose one of three directions to proceed. The line heading east out of Perambur has a massive junction at Vysarpadi Jiva. One freighter with a WAG/5HA locomotive from Vijaywada (BZA) chooses the straight line to Chennai Beach station. |
