Chennai Mumbai Express at Pune Jn.

It's late morning in Pune on July 31, 2000. After repeated announcements on the PA system the Indrayani rake is being moved from the platform. Meanwhile, the Chennai- Mumbai Express in on the opposite platform having arrived a few minutes ahead of schedule.

Another view of the loco and the rake. WCAM3s dominate passenger traffic on CR's Mumbai division. The WCMx locos that lent much of the character to this division are now history. A few of them are stabled at the Kalyan elec. loco shed, and hopefully a couple will be preserved. Notice the CR standard day train livery.

Kazipet WDM2A 17445( DLW 1974)  resting at Pune Jn. Awaiting perhaps, the Secunderabad bound Hussain Sagar Express.

Another view of the loco.

Another Kazipet WDM2 18887 (DLW 1986) at Pune. Notice the variation in livery, which is unique to Kazipet. This time it is a reddish brown with white stripes as opposed to the standard brown and yellow.

The Chennai - Mumbai Express has just departed Renigunta and is picking up speed after changing over to Diesel traction. A WDG2 with a well finished forehead (as opposed to initial models where the forehead was poorly finished).
