Main page of the IRFCA Server   IGATPURI SUPER TRIP Part I
August 4, 2000

A WAG5 hauled freight heading for Nashik. This picture was taken from a speeding bus couple of days prior to the Igatpuri 'super trip'.

The Gitanjali between Kasara and Igatpuri. The view from the general coach as the WCAM3 threads her way towards Igatpuri. Notice the guard perched comfortably, obviously enjoying the view - he was in this position all the way from Kasara to IGP! The scene is still quite vivid in my mind - including the reverberating horn of the loco.

A slew of WCG2s at Kasara. The 5 units seen here make up two sets of bankers - a two unit and a three unit lash up.

The Gitanjali Express which brought to IGP departing after a loco change. Tatanagar WAM4 21332 (CLW 1981) is in charge and will take the train all the way to Howrah (Calcutta) in about 28 hours. Note the Tatanagar shed logo.

Another pair of WCG2 bankers at Igatpuri. Unfortunately, these were waiting for 'load' and would not leave IGP for a while. ISA (banker of a different kind) can be seen in the background looking for other opportunities to travel to Kasara.
