A WDM2B (#16501) belonging to  Kazipet shed of South Central Railway hauls another WDM2 and a departmental coach through Maula Ali station. The guy on the opposite side is Gautam.

A fresh looking Bondamunda WDM2 (#16251) arrives at Bhubaneshwar with an express train from Howrah. The livery on this loco is amongst the zaniest on IR and reaffirms the status of SER as the most creative zone in IR when it comes to choosing a set of clothes for their steeds.

Circa 2001, the 6011 Mumbai Chennai Express is seen way off-course in Hyderabad !!! A derailment on the Wadi- Guntakal section prompted authorities to reroute this train. Kazipet WDM2 (#16293) running short hood forward is speeding through Maula Ali yard trying to make up for lost time.

A Kharagpur WDM2 (#16421) starts with teh Delhi bound Rajdhani Express from Bhubaneshwar. For a change though, the rake featured livery matched generator cars on both ends rather than the irritating Shatabdi colored ones.

A Kazipet WDM2A (#18789) stands at Bolarum station near Hyderabad with a special train which was run by SCR authorities for the public to come and witness the special steam run to commemorate 150 years of Indian Railways in April 2002.

A Kharagpur WDM2 (#16310) does temporary shunting duty in Bhubaneshwar yard. The loco has just brought the rake of the Secundrabad bound Visakha Express from the coaching depot. It will be hauled by the Lallaguda WAP4 seen in the background, which is incapable of hauling the rake from the depot as the sidings there are unelectrified.

Erode shed’s WDM2 #17914 waits at Byappanahalli station outside Bangalore with the passenger to Salem. This train undergoes a reversal twice within the first 20 km of its journey hence to save time the authoroties provide it with a locomotuive at each end till this station. Note the Swarna Jayanti Express liveried guard van behind the loco.

A KJM based WDM2 (#17364) is seen near Yelehanka on the outskirts of Bangalore. The loco has reversed at Yelehanka in order to proceed towards Bangalore via Yeshwantpur, hence the caboose is seen right behind the loco.

Twin WDM2s hauling an 18 coach train !!! The Sabari Express between Hyderabad & Ernakulam enjoys the luxury of being hauled by a WDP4 between Hyderabad & Guntur or twin WDM2s as it forms a convenient loco link with the 7053/54 Express. Here Kazipet based locos are doing duty.

Some WDM2 locos were built with a low nose full width cab, which are affectionately called ‘Jumbos’. This experiment was not a success as the crew had lots of problem with the ergonomics and these locos are now being rebuilt with normal WDM2 cabs. This unit (#17796) has just finished its Hyderabad - Pune run on the 7032 Express to Mumbai.

The Hazrat Nizamuddin - Ernakulam Mangala Lakshadweep Express enters Panvel station behind an Ernakulam shed WDM2 (#18320). Since Panvel does not have any stabling facilities for electric or diesel locos, the loco changeover for the Mangala is done at Igatpuri itself, which in turn releases a WCAM3 loco for an already hard pressed CR network.
