The loco has a well-deserved watering halt at Dahinsara Jn. A
spur of line goes down to Navlakhi just after this spot, that is
where the table salt comes from the salt pans. |
|
More detailed pic of the loco showing the missing smoke
deflector and the tempting perch on the buffer beam, which we did
ride for a section. |
|
The linkage gets lovingly cared for during this break. |
|
We rode the loco everywhere, in the cab, hanging off the buffer
beam when moving tender foremost, when moving forward and in the
tender. This is the view from the tender thundering towards the
Dahinsara Jn. |
|
One more shot looking towards the front as the loco pounds its
noisy way to Dahinsara. I stand ankle deep in the coal and cut the
clear morning air feeling a bit like the famous scene in the
Titanic, hanging off the bow. |

A view aft, over the cab and the rake. |
