Erode shed WAG7 # 27587 at Renigunta. |
|
This loco is the ultimate in indigenous development of electric
freight power from CLW. |
|
This particular locomotive has been fitted with the twin beam
headlamps, LED classification lamps and (surprise!) LED flasher on
the roof. |
|
The high-adhesion bogies which make this loco suitable to haul
heavy freights. |
|
Details of the roof. Some WAG7s have the twin headlamps grafted
in the roof-height headlamp nacelle. However these waist-height
headlamps are the latest style. |

Side profile of this WAG7. |
|
Another WAG7 # 27559 from Erode (not sure) with similar
headlamp modifications but regular livery stands on the open line
at Renigunta. |
|
A view of that WAG7 # 27559 painted in the traditional
livery and the tiger stripes on the face. |
|
Still more Erode WAG7s (# 27488), this one with the old-style
headlamp. |
|
The loco the more powerful WAG7 replaced, the WAG5 # 23994 from
Vadodara. Note the bogies on these locos which are also found on
the WDM2 and the WAM4. |
