Great album. This is the aerial view of the area. The railway spur into BFL is located at the North East corner, at the '+' of the cursor.

Thanks a lot. My dad took training in this company during 1960's. He was a metallurgical engineer from BHU, Varanasi. He had training in many prestigious companies in India as well as abroad. He was sent for training in this Company by the company where he worked, Aluminum Industries Ltd (ALIND), Hyderabad and Hirakud. Probably he knew the persons in the picture

Wow! I am speechless looking at these photographs. 1960s to 2012, more than 50 years have passed. I can relate to these pictures, because they depict railways I grew up watching, the WG steam locomotive, the 'C' wagon, the four wheeled box car, semaphore signals etc. The only thing that has remained unchanged, is sadly the images of laborers, same hard working, toiling people earning bare minimum wages. Hardly anything has changed for these citizens of our country, a sad reminder to our so-called "progress".

These pictures are truly historical - they are connected with IR and also show the industrialisation of Poona (now Pune)- which would not have happened without IR. The men and women in the pictures are pioneers of industialisation of Poona. Thanks a lot - Harsh - for sharing this heritage.

Many thanks, Harsh, for this super album.
Images of a time long gone. It is good that someone took to trouble to take pictures of such scenes.
