The shadow of our train falls on a harvested pady feild. The stretch from Alleppey to Kayamkulam, called "Kuttanad" is one of the most beautifull and scenic stretches on he IR, if not the whole world!! A real treat for nature lovers and train fans alike. The topography is filled with paddy feilds and lagoons. Seems the engineers who built this track were real lovers of beauty of nature. They took this scenic route instead of building railway parellel to the NH 47, which does not pass through this area. 2005-04-11. Jimmy Jose.
