Interesting that 1885 is long before the Matheran line opened. It must have been re-used from somewhere else.

It is the Neral-Matheran line. Infact all the pics uploaded showing damage are only of this section.

Work has been completed till about 1 km ahead of Jhummapatti Station. From there, there till the point where we trekked, about 3 kms ahead of Jhummpatti, there was almost no track existant. The locals informed us that the damage beyond that point was more or less as extensive as the ones we saw. Trial runs are being counducted at random intervals on the tracks till Jhummapatti.
