Dear Ajaida, Thanks for the info. So ERS had the MG for a brief period from 1958 to 1975. So CHTS too must have had MG during the same period.

Minor corrections: the MG line from Ernakulam to Quilon was opened in c.1958, so the MG connection to the CHTS must have come at that time. The MG line from Shoranur to ERG was converted to BG in c.1929, so initially there was no MG at ERS to CHTS.

Very informative photo essay on the sad state of affairs at CHTS. Hope, once the new bridge to the mainland gets ready, CHTS gets back some of its lost glory. Circa 1999, it was a busy yard. Good work Jimmy!!

Cochin Harbour Terminus

Tearful I can say...never went here but remember seeing the Gorakhpur-Cochin exp (now 2511 Raptisagar) which started in late 80s and name Cochin was made famous among railway folks in LKO. Also took this train twice once for JTJ and once for CBE before it was extended to TVC. Anyway Jimmy a very good effort and also a nice treat.
